Bethesda and id Software unveiled a new DOOM: The Dark Ages gameplay demo during the Xbox showcase, confirming earlier leaks of a May 15th release date.
Transporting players to a medieval setting, The Dark Ages offers a distinct gameplay experience compared to DOOM: Eternal. The focus shifts from frenetic, parkour-heavy combat to a more grounded, tank-like approach. Players will wield a powerful arsenal, feeling like unstoppable killing machines.
Central to this brutal efficiency are a shield and mace, providing a new tactical dimension. For the first time in the DOOM franchise, players will command a giant mech to decimate hordes of demons. Furthermore, dragon riding will be a key element of the campaign.
A customizable difficulty system allows players to fine-tune the challenge, adjusting enemy damage and other parameters to their preferred level.
