To celebrate the launch of the "Nyras Prologue" demo for the Gothic 1 Remake, THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have unveiled an exciting trailer. In this remake, players step into the shoes of Nyras, a prisoner, diverging from the original's Nameless Hero. Despite this change, the core objective remains the same: to survive in the game's unforgiving world.
The Gothic Remake demo was released during the Steam Next Fest event, quickly breaking records for concurrent players among all entries in the Gothic series, as shown in the image below:

The demo showcases revamped graphics, animations, and a new combat system, all powered by Unreal Engine 5. While the prologue provides a glimpse into the game's world, it cannot fully capture the expansive freedom of action and deep RPG mechanics that players can expect from the complete version.
The Gothic Remake is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (available on Steam and GOG). Although a specific release date has yet to be announced, anticipation continues to build among fans eagerly awaiting this modern take on a classic.
