This suggests either incredibly high expectations for player engagement or a proactive approach to prevent launch-day server issues.
Since Horizon Forbidden West's release in 2022 and its Burning Shores DLC, Guerrilla has remained relatively quiet, focusing on collaborations like Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered and LEGO Horizon Adventures. However, internal job listings dating back to 2018 have consistently hinted at a multiplayer Horizon title, solidifying its existence in 2025.
While the official announcement remains pending, the requirement for a system handling "1M+ user globally distributed systems" strongly indicates ambitious player count projections. This points to a robust live-service infrastructure being built to accommodate a massive player base.
