Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced significant leadership changes, effective April 1, 2025. Hideaki Nishino assumes the role of sole CEO of SIE, succeeding the previously shared leadership structure. This follows the retirement of Jim Ryan last year, which saw a split leadership between Nishino and Hermen Hulst.
Simultaneously, Sony Corporation announced the promotion of Hiroki Totoki to President and CEO, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida. Lin Tao is promoted to CFO.
The press release details Nishino's expanded responsibilities, now encompassing all SIE operations and the platform business group. Hermen Hulst remains CEO of PlayStation Studios. Nishino, a Sony employee since 2000, previously served as SVP, Platform Experience Group.
In a statement, Nishino expressed his honor at leading SIE, emphasizing the company's commitment to technological innovation and creative experiences. He highlighted plans for PlayStation community growth through IP expansion and technological advancements, thanking Hulst for his continued contributions.
