Hollywood Eyes Split Fiction for Movie Adaptation

By DavidMar 29,2025

According to Variety, the acclaimed co-op action adventure game Split Fiction is set to be adapted into a film, with multiple top Hollywood studios vying for the movie rights. Story Kitchen, a media company known for its expertise in turning games and other non-traditional properties into films and TV shows, is currently assembling a package deal that includes the project's writers, director, and cast. This is the same team behind the upcoming film adaptation of Hazelight Studios' previous hit, It Takes Two. Story Kitchen, formerly known as dj2 Entertainment, has also been involved in other notable projects such as the Sonic the Hedgehog films and Netflix's Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. While no further details have been released at this stage, the anticipation for this adaptation is high.

Adding to the excitement, Split Fiction recently achieved a significant milestone by selling over two million copies within its first week on sale. IGN's review praised the game as an "unmissable co-op adventure" that remains "fabulously fresh" throughout its entire 14-hour duration. This success underscores the game's appeal and sets a strong foundation for its upcoming film adaptation.

In other news, Hazelight director Josef Fares announced earlier this week that the studio is already at work on its next game, promising more innovative experiences for fans of their unique storytelling and gameplay.
