If you're a fan of Japanese music, you're likely familiar with HYDE, the iconic artist who has graced Madison Square Garden and sold over 40 million records. Now, HYDE takes center stage in a thrilling new endless runner game titled "Hyde Run," which has just launched globally. Initially released in Japan, this game is now accessible to players around the world, allowing fans to dive into an experience filled with nods to HYDE's illustrious career, thanks to developer and publisher Phoenixx.
Move, Jump or Slide in Hyde Run
In "Hyde Run," you embody HYDE as you parkour through a dynamic blend of concert stages and a futuristic Tokyo. Embark on a high-speed chase across Neo Tokyo, deftly dodging obstacles, wall-running past vibrant billboards, and collecting musical notes that resonate with HYDE's music. The game's atmosphere is infused with a neon-and-noise aesthetic, punctuated by the electrifying energy of guitar solos and fan-centric details unique to HYDE's persona.
As you navigate the city, you'll encounter various power-ups to enhance your gameplay. Grab magnets to effortlessly collect notes or use barriers to shield yourself from damage. Before each run, you can equip items like Note Gain to amplify your note collection or a Barrier to avoid pesky obstacles.
Additionally, you can gather crystals to unlock exclusive outfits and room items reflecting HYDE's career. Unlocking the Microphone Stand rewards you with voice clips directly from HYDE himself.
There’s More Stuff in the Game to Do
"Hyde Run" also offers the chance to customize HYDE’s in-game room with memorabilia spanning 20 years, including old tour gear and more obscure references. Hidden items throughout the game unlock special messages and voice notes from HYDE.
Currently, until June 10th, 2025, players can access limited-time content. This includes the THE LAST ROCKSTARS Costume Set, featuring HYDE's iconic look from the music video, complete with matching ROCK Furniture like leopard prints, vintage trunks, and stage spotlights. For a more relaxed vibe, the Bat Jinbei Costume Set offers a summer-festival feel, while a Japanese-style furniture set adds traditional elements like bamboo, bonboris, and a wind chime shaped like HYDE's Edyh character.
