Marvel Rivals Enhances Game Mechanics for Season 1 Play

Marvel Rivals Season 1: Dracula, Fantastic Four, and Balance Adjustments

NetEase Games has unveiled a comprehensive developer update for Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST. This season introduces significant changes, including a new villain, roster additions, map expansions, a fresh game mode, and substantial balance tweaks.

Key Highlights of Season 1:

  • Dracula Takes Center Stage: The infamous vampire lord will serve as the primary antagonist for Season 1.
  • Fantastic Four Arrival: The iconic team joins the roster, with Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman debuting on launch day, followed by Human Torch and The Thing several weeks later.
  • New Maps and Game Mode: Three new maps and a new game mode, "Doom Match," will enhance gameplay diversity.
  • Battle Pass Rewards: A battle pass costing 990 Lattice (approximately $10) offers 10 skins and rewards players with 600 Lattice and 600 Units upon completion.

Balance Adjustments:

The update addresses balance concerns, focusing on both nerfs and buffs:

  • Nerfs: Hela and Hawkeye, deemed overpowered in Season 0, will receive nerfs to reduce their dominance.
  • Buffs: Mobility-focused Vanguards, such as Captain America and Venom, will receive buffs to improve their effectiveness. Wolverine, Storm, and Cloak and Dagger will also see improvements, encouraging diverse team compositions and strategic play.
  • Jeff the Land Shark Adjustments: Changes are planned to better align Jeff's early warning indicators with his ultimate ability's hitbox. While his ultimate's power level is under consideration, no major adjustments have been announced yet.

Seasonal Bonus Changes Unconfirmed:

NetEase Games has yet to address potential changes to the Seasonal Bonus feature, a point of contention among players.

Season 1 promises a significant content injection for Marvel Rivals, with new characters, maps, a game mode, and crucial balance adjustments designed to create a more engaging and competitive experience. The community eagerly anticipates the launch on January 10th.
