Monster Hunter Wilds shattered sales records, selling over 8 million units in just three days—a monumental achievement that makes it Capcom's fastest-selling game ever. Despite some initial bugs, the game's success is undeniable. Read on to learn more about this milestone and the latest game updates.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Capcom's Fastest-Selling Game

Monster Hunter Wilds (MH Wilds) has officially claimed the title of Capcom's fastest-selling game, surpassing 8 million units sold within its first three days on the market. Capcom proudly announced this record-breaking achievement on their website.
The game's impressive launch wasn't unnoticed. SteamDB reported over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam alone, despite mixed initial reviews. Capcom attributes this phenomenal success to a comprehensive marketing strategy, including prominent appearances at global gaming events and a well-received open beta test, which allowed players to experience the game firsthand.
Latest Update Addresses Game-Breaking Bugs
MH Wilds recently released a crucial hotfix patch (Ver.1.000.04.00) addressing several game-breaking bugs across all platforms. Monster Hunter Status, the official support account, announced the patch on Twitter (X) on March 4, 2025.
This update resolved several issues, including the inability to unlock the "Grill a Meal" and "Ingredient Center" features, inaccessibility of the Monster Field Guide, and most importantly, a critical bug halting story progression in Chapter 5-2 ("A World Turned Upside Down"). Players are required to update the game to continue playing online.
While this patch significantly improved the experience, some bugs remain. These include network errors related to SOS flares, and issues with Palico's blunt weapon attacks not correctly applying stun and exhaust effects. Capcom plans to address these, primarily multiplayer-related, bugs in future updates.
