Mortal Kombat 1 has unveiled two consecutive character spotlights. Yesterday's esports trailer teased T-1000, but the Terminator isn't the immediate addition to the roster. Conan the Barbarian takes center stage, launching next week for premium edition owners, with a gameplay trailer now available.
Conan embodies the classic powerhouse archetype. His attacks appear devastating, though agility may not be his strong suit. His extended sword reach could offset this, making matchups against characters like General Shao, Omni-Man, and Homelander particularly intriguing.
While visually reminiscent of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Conan's fatality lacks the spectacular flair of some others in MK1. His acid-drowning finisher feels somewhat underwhelming. However, compelling gameplay can transcend a single finishing move, and Conan promises an enjoyable experience.
Premium edition owners gain early access on Tuesday, while others must wait until January 28th.
