By DylanFeb 19,2025

Team Ninja's substantial update for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black (version 1.0.7.0) introduces highly anticipated features and significant improvements. Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam & Microsoft Store), the patch fulfills a January promise to address community feedback.

Key additions include New Game Plus, allowing players to restart with previously acquired weapons and Ninpo (reset to level 1), and a Photo Mode for capturing in-game moments. A quality-of-life enhancement lets players toggle the visibility of their projectile weapon via the Options > Game Settings menu.

Balance adjustments include HP reductions for enemies in Chapters 8 and 11, increased enemy counts in Chapters 13 and 14, and damage buffs to some of Ayane's attacks. Numerous bug fixes resolve issues impacting high-performance PCs, controller vibration inconsistencies, out-of-bounds glitches, progression-blocking bugs, and crashes during extended play sessions.

The surprise January release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, a reimagining powered by Unreal Engine 5, boasts enhanced visuals, new playable characters, and refined combat mechanics. IGN's 8/10 review praised its visual improvements over Sigma 2, despite noting some enemy health adjustments.
