Screen Rant reported on a statement from The Pokémon Company confirming the ongoing utility of Pack Hourglasses. The statement clarified that these hourglasses will continue to reduce booster pack opening delays by one hour per hourglass, regardless of the expansion. This announcement contradicts earlier player suggestions for a new expansion-specific hourglass currency. While such a currency might be introduced later, it's not part of the upcoming expansion anticipated in 2025. Players can therefore continue accumulating Pack Hourglasses for future use.

Without Pack Hourglasses, players earn Pack Stamina at 12-hour intervals, allowing for two pack openings daily. Each hourglass reduces the stamina wait by one hour (12 hourglasses are needed for a full 12-hour interval). Beyond Pack Hourglasses, the game utilizes various currencies, including Wonder Hourglasses, Special, Event, and standard Shop Tickets, Poké Gold, and Pack Points.
