How to Recruit Surfer Jay in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
Surfer Jay, a powerful recruit found in Honolulu, boasts superior base stats compared to earlier crew members. However, acquiring him requires a bit more legwork. The easiest approach is to first obtain a specific item in Madlantis.
Head to Madlantis and locate the UFO Catcher game in the tent opposite the golf range. Your goal is to win the blue Kraken-Chan plush. Note: Kraken-Chan isn't always available; if not, speak to the attendant to change the prizes.
Winning Kraken-Chan might take several tries, so ensure you have enough cash. Strategically use the claw to nudge the plush towards the collection slot. Once obtained, return to Honolulu.
Find Surfer Jay at Tropical Coco in the Anaconda Shopping Center. Use the mini-map to locate recruitable pirate members (bandana and sword icon). He'll be in a garage near his surfboard.
After a heartfelt conversation revealing his relationship woes, present him with Kraken-Chan. This unlocks his recruitment. While he doesn't offer unique perks as First Mate or Boarding Squad Leader, he's a valuable addition for completionists.
