According to Remedy's annual report, Control 2 has triumphantly passed the concept validation stage and has now transitioned into full production. This marks a pivotal milestone, solidifying the project's progression. With an estimated budget of 50 million euros, Control 2 will be self-published by the studio and is slated for release on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC platforms.
In addition to Control 2, two other exciting projects are actively under development: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. Just a year ago, these games were in the preparatory stages, but they have since advanced to the next phase of development. FBC: Firebreak, with a budget of 30 million euros, will be available on PlayStation and Xbox subscription services upon release, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store. As for the remakes of Max Payne 1+2, while the budget remains undisclosed, they are set to be AAA-level games, with development and marketing fully funded by Rockstar Games.
However, not all projects have fared as well. The project Kestrel, which was being developed in collaboration with Tencent, has been removed from Remedy's plans. It was canceled back in May of last year.
All these exciting projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight. This engine has already demonstrated its prowess in games like Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy titles, ensuring high-quality gaming experiences.
