Insomniac Games' Ted Price Reveals Unmade Resistance 4 Pitch
Insomniac Games founder and retiring president Ted Price recently revealed a favorite unmade game concept during an interview with Kinda Funny Games: Resistance 4. While the pitch was strong and the concept "wonderful," Price cited timing and market opportunity as reasons for its rejection.
He expressed the team's passion for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting its unique alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera's origins and future.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, was developed by Insomniac for the PlayStation 3. Set in a 1951 UK invaded by aliens, the series concluded before Insomniac shifted focus to titles like Marvel's Spider-Man and the newer Ratchet & Clank installments.
Price's retirement announcement earlier this year marked the end of his 30-year tenure at Insomniac. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's current projects include the recently PC-released Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and the upcoming Marvel's Wolverine.
