Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server to Shut Down

Sad news for global players of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have announced the end of service (EOS) for the game's global version, effective March 28th, 2025. This comes just over a year after its January 2024 launch. The Japanese version, however, remains operational and is even preparing for its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025 – a stark contrast to the global server's closure.

The End is Near (March 28th, 2025)

The global server's shutdown coincides ironically with the Japanese server's anniversary celebrations. In-game purchases are already disabled, but players can still utilize any remaining Lodestar Gems. Koei Tecmo promises continued events and content updates until the final day. The global version's first anniversary on January 25th, 2025, now feels bittersweet.

Reasons for Closure

The developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the primary reason for the shutdown. The game struggled to gain traction, facing criticism almost immediately after launch. Player complaints centered on the gacha system, while issues with gameplay balance and aggressive monetization further hampered its success. The power creep also proved to be a significant deterrent.

While the main characters received positive feedback, these other factors ultimately led to the decision to end the global service. Players wishing to experience the game before its closure can still find it on the Google Play Store.
