How to Respec Your Character in Avowed (& When You Should)
Starting a new game can be tricky; it's hard to know your ideal playstyle from the outset. Respeccing lets you correct course if your initial choices aren't working out. Whether you initially aimed for a pure wizard but found yourself struggling, or want to optimize your build later in the game, respeccing offers a fresh start. I personally switched from a wizard to a spellsword in Avowed and found it vastly improved my experience.
Respeccing Your Abilities
To reset your ability points, open the menu and go to the "Abilities" section. At the bottom, you'll find a "Reset Points" option. The initial cost is 100 Copper Skeyt, increasing with progression. Select the option, confirm, and pay the price to redistribute your points across all skill trees except "Godlike" abilities, which are acquired through in-game choices.
Respeccing Your Attributes
Happy with your abilities but not your attributes? Or perhaps you want a complete overhaul? Navigate to the "Character" section in the menu. Underneath your attribute list, you'll find a button to reset your attribute points, again with a cost (initially 100 Copper Skeyt) increasing over time. Click, pay, and redistribute!
Respeccing Your Companion
To respec your companion's abilities, open the menu, go to "Abilities," and select the "Companions" tab. Under your companion's name, you'll see a button to reset their points for a Copper Skeyt cost. Note that you must respec each companion individually.
