Rockstar Releases Bully Anniversary Update After Six Years

Rockstar, the masterminds behind the GTA series, have just unleashed an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. Yes, after a six-year hiatus, they've finally given us something new! This update, exclusive to mobile platforms, brings a breath of fresh air to the beloved game.

Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!

Bully: Anniversary Edition's latest update introduces new languages and focuses primarily on enhancing stability and squashing bugs. Rockstar has made the decision to temporarily disable Friends Challenges, but fear not, they're working on it.

For Android users with compatible devices, the update now includes Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO), making the visuals even more immersive. Both Android and iOS users will notice a refreshed app icon and the addition of haptic feedback, enhancing the overall experience.

Several missions have been fine-tuned to ensure smoother gameplay. For instance, the notorious locker-picking issue in the mission ‘That Bitch’ has been resolved, as has the progression glitch in ‘Weed Killer’ where breaking the window prematurely would halt the mission. Even the physics issues with police cars in ‘The Rumble’ have been fixed, preventing them from falling through the floor.

Additionally, the update addresses gameplay quirks where enemies wouldn't engage Jimmy, leading to unbalanced fights. Crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu have also been resolved.

What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?

The Bully fanbase has been vocal about their desire for a sequel, Bully 2, for years. Despite rumors of its development in the 2010s, it was reportedly shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 on the horizon, hopes for Bully 2 seem slim, especially with many original team members having moved on from Rockstar.

While this update isn't the full remaster or sequel fans might have hoped for, it's a significant upgrade for mobile players. If you're new to Bully, it's Rockstar's unique spin on a schoolyard sandbox, where you play as Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old navigating the trials and tribulations of Bullworth Academy. The game retains Rockstar's signature humor and open-world chaos.

So, if you're intrigued, head over to the Google Play Store where Bully: Anniversary Edition is available for €7.99 and supports full gamepad integration.
