Rumor: Switch 2 Leak Reveals Possible Joy-Con Images

Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con Leak: A Closer Look at the New Controller

Recent online leaks offer the clearest images yet of the Joy-Cons for the upcoming Nintendo Switch successor. While the original Switch continues to receive new releases into 2025, speculation around its replacement is intensifying, especially with Nintendo confirming an announcement before the end of their 2024 fiscal year. Rumors regarding the Switch 2's specifications and features, including a rumored March 2025 launch, are rampant.

These latest leaked images, shared on r/NintendoSwitch2 and various social media platforms, purportedly originate from a Chinese social network. They provide detailed views of the left Joy-Con's back and side, showcasing a key design change: a magnetic connection system. This replaces the rail-based system of the original Switch, utilizing magnetic fields for attachment.

The leaked images reveal a predominantly black Joy-Con with blue accents, a color scheme reminiscent of the original Switch's blue Joy-Con, but with a reversed color emphasis. The photos also hint at a revised button layout, including noticeably larger "SL" and "SR" buttons, and a third, unlabeled button on the back, possibly designed to release the magnetic connection.

This leak aligns with other circulating rumors and mockups of the Switch 2 console. The images are consistent with previous reports about the magnetic Joy-Cons and their color scheme. However, confirmation awaits an official unveiling from Nintendo.
