"Shining Revelry Expansion Announced for Pokemon TCG Pocket"

By BlakeApr 09,2025

My interest in Pokemon TCG Pocket tends to ebb and flow. I'm deeply engaged whenever a new set is released and continue playing as long as there are Emblems to earn after securing around 40 wins. Once that's done, my routine shifts to logging in daily, opening my packs, enjoying a Wonder Pick for fun, and then moving on until the next day. This cycle is set to kick off again with the arrival of the latest expansion, Shining Revelry, on March 27th.

This expansion will bring 110 new cards into the game, featuring a variety of new Ex Pokemon, Trainers, and the stunning art cards that fans adore. The highlight, hinted at by the expansion's name, is the inclusion of Shiny Pokemon. For those new to the concept, Shiny Pokemon are unique color variants of your favorite creatures. For instance, you'll see a yellow Lucario instead of the usual blue, and Pachirisu with a striking pink stripe.

The trailer, which you can view below, offers just a glimpse of what's in store. A new Shiny Charizard Ex is set to debut with 180 HP and a powerful attack called Steam Artillery, dealing 150 damage. However, it requires a hefty five energy to use. Thankfully, its other move, Stoke, lets you attach three Fire Energy cards at once, making it more manageable.

Another exciting addition is the new Ex version of Lucario. Previously more of a support in the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, this iteration of the Aura Pokemon is ready for frontline combat. With 150 HP, it may not be the most robust, but its Aura Sphere attack is impressive, dealing 100 damage for three Fighting Energy and also hitting one of your opponent's Benched Pokemon for 30 damage.

The trailer also teases other cards that, while not game-changers, are still noteworthy. Shiny versions of Wiglett, Pachirisu, and Varoom are on their way and look fantastic. Additionally, there's a stunning Tatsugiri art rare that I'm eager to add to my digital collection.

Pokemon TCG Pocket is available for free on the App Store and Google Play, with in-app purchases available. If you're interested, you can download it for your preferred platform using the buttons below.
