EA Sports UFC 5 Receives January 9th Update: New Fighter, Bug Fixes, and Xbox Game Pass Integration
EA Vancouver has dropped Patch 1.18 for EA Sports UFC 5, launching January 9th at 1 PM ET on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This update introduces undefeated Light Heavyweight Azamat Murzakanov, boasting impressive stats (97 Power Punch, 95 Accuracy, 94 Ground Striking), alongside three undisclosed new alter egos.
The update also addresses player concerns. Following criticism of the initial roster, EA Vancouver continues to expand the game's fighter selection, bringing EA Sports UFC 5 to 98% parity with current UFC top ten rankings. This commitment to content updates demonstrates a dedication to improving the game post-launch (October 2023).
Beyond the new fighter additions, Patch 1.18 includes gameplay tweaks and bug fixes. Specifically, the stamina cost of the muscle modifier has been reduced from 3.125x to 2.5x. Bug fixes encompass incorrect translations in certain languages, a Ranked Championship Stand and Bang match result display issue, and updated portraits for Stipe and Jones reflecting in-game glove changes.
Further enhancing accessibility, EA Sports UFC 5 joins the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tier via EA Play on January 14th, alongside other titles.
