Many excellent recent PC games didn't make the cut—a testament to the sheer volume of great titles and diverse preferences. Our criteria focused on "modern" PC games (released or significantly updated since 2013). Classic titles like Doom, Half-Life 2, and Skyrim remain legendary but are considered all-time classics, not "modern."
