Warner Bros. Discovery Confirms Hogwarts Legacy Sequel
A Sequel Expected Within a Few Years
Warner Bros. Discovery has officially announced plans for a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy, the critically acclaimed Harry Potter-based action RPG that sold over 24 million copies since its release. During Bank of America's 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels stated that a sequel is a high priority for the company, as reported by Variety.
"Developing a successor to Hogwarts Legacy is undoubtedly a top priority for us in the coming years," Wiedenfels confirmed. "We anticipate significant growth from our games division, and this project will be a key contributor."
Earlier this year, Warner Bros. Games' David Haddad highlighted the game's remarkable replayability in an interview with Variety. "Many players have revisited the game multiple times," Haddad noted. He emphasized that the game's success extends beyond sales figures, stating, "It presented Harry Potter in a completely new and engaging way for gamers, allowing them to truly immerse themselves in the world and story."
Haddad believes this immersive quality is the key factor behind Hogwarts Legacy's phenomenal reception and its position as the year's best-selling game. He added, "This is a spot typically occupied by sequels from established franchises, so we're incredibly proud to have achieved this."
Game8 was particularly impressed by Hogwarts Legacy's stunning visuals, calling it the most breathtaking visual experience any Harry Potter fan could hope for. For a detailed review, please visit our site (link omitted).
