WoW Patch 11.1 Includes Touching NPC Addition

World of Warcraft Patch 11.1: A Tribute to Mats Steen and Undermine's Expansion

World of Warcraft's upcoming Patch 11.1, tentatively scheduled for around February 25th, promises significant additions. Dataminers have uncovered exciting new content, including a heartfelt tribute to the late Mats Steen, a beloved WoW player featured in the documentary "The Remarkable Life of Ibelin."

This tribute takes the form of Lord Ibelin Redmoore, an NPC mirroring Steen's in-game avatar. The NPC's title, "Private Investigator," reflects Steen's renowned roleplaying career as a detective in Stormwind, a character known for engaging with fellow players. While the exact implementation remains a mystery, speculation suggests appearances in Stormwind taverns or along his well-known daily route. The addition might even appear in a Public Test Realm build before the official patch launch.

Beyond this touching tribute, Patch 11.1 will introduce substantial new content within Undermine, the Goblin capital city. This marks the first major content update for "World of Warcraft: The War Within," offering players new adventures and challenges.

This isn't the first time World of Warcraft has honored Steen's memory. A recreation of his real-life grave exists in Elwynn Forest, and a Reven fox pet and backpack were recently sold for charity, supporting CureDuchenne. The inclusion of Lord Ibelin Redmoore further underscores the lasting impact Steen had on the WoW community.
