Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series by letting fans choose the next official merchandise items! Fans get to pick from a whopping 100 options, with the top two vote-getters slated for release within the next two years. The poll is currently only available in Japanese, but submissions can be made via the official website.
While some choices are more conventional—think anniversary hoodies or pencil cases—many others are delightfully bizarre, drawing inspiration from the series' famously outlandish history.
Among the more unusual contenders are Munan Suzuki's cult outfit from Yakuza 0, Majima's infamous traffic cone hiding spot from Yakuza Kiwami, and the intriguingly named "Puffy Gold Pants." Other options include Majima's sake cup from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Akiyama's gold watch, Kiryu's fountain pen from Yakuza 6, Kashiwagi's tambourine from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Kiryu's wrestling mask from Yakuza 3, and Saejima's prison uniform from Yakuza 4.
The series will see at least one new game release in 2025, its 20th anniversary year, with Like a Dragon: Pirate of the Caribbean arriving on February 21st. While a second release is unconfirmed, RGG Studio's history of rapid development—nine games in the last five years, including Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Judgment Remastered, Lost Judgment, Like a Dragon: Ishin, Like a Dragon Gaiden, and Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, plus other projects—suggests it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility.
