Zenless Zone Zero Tier List: December 24, 2024
HoYoverse's Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) boasts a diverse cast of characters, each with unique mechanics and synergy potential. This tier list ranks all ZZZ 1.0 characters, reflecting the current meta as of December 24, 2024. Note that tier lists are dynamic and subject to change with new content and balance updates. For example, while Grace was initially a top performer, the introduction of other powerful Anomaly units has diminished her relative strength.

S-Tier
S-Tier Agents consistently excel in their roles and synergize effectively within teams.
- Miyabi: Miyabi's swift Frost attacks and substantial damage output make her a top contender. While requiring strategic play, mastering her abilities leads to devastating battlefield performance.

- Jane Doe: A superior version of Piper, Jane Doe's critical hit potential on Assault Anomalies delivers significantly higher damage. Despite the inherent slower pace of Anomaly units, her Assault power secures her an S-rank alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.

- Yanagi: Yanagi specializes in triggering Disorder, activating the effect without needing Shock alongside other Anomalies. Her effectiveness hinges on existing enemy Anomaly effects, making her an ideal partner for Miyabi.

- Zhu Yuan: An exceptional DPS, Zhu Yuan's rapid Shotshell attacks are highly effective with Stun and Support characters. In version 1.1, her optimal teammates are Qingyi and Nicole, who provide crucial Stun and Ether damage boosts.

- Caesar: Caesar redefines the Defensive Agent role, offering exceptional protection, potent buffs, and debuffs. Her Impact scaling facilitates easy enemy stuns, and her crowd control abilities further enhance her value.

- Qingyi: A versatile Stunner suitable for any team with an Attack Agent. Her fluid movements and rapid Daze buildup, coupled with a significant damage multiplier against stunned enemies, surpass Lycaon and Koleda in most scenarios (except in Ellen teams where Lycaon's extra Ice effects prove beneficial).

- Lighter: A Stun Agent with significant buffs, Lighter synergizes best with Fire and Ice characters, placing him high in the rankings due to the strength of these elemental units.

- Lycaon: Lycaon's Ice-based Stun capabilities, particularly his charged attacks, are enhanced by his ability to reduce enemy Ice resistance and increase ally Daze DMG, making him essential for Ice teams.

- Ellen: Ellen's Ice-based attacks excel with Lycaon and Soukaku, whose stuns and buffs significantly amplify her damage output.

- Harumasa: Initially a free character, Harumasa's Electric attacks deliver powerful damage with proper setup.

- Soukaku: A strong Ice Support, Soukaku's buffs and Ice Anomaly application make her particularly effective with Ice units like Ellen and Lycaon.

- Rina: Rina's Support role provides substantial damage while granting allies PEN (defense ignore), making her a valuable asset, especially for Electric characters due to her Shock Anomaly generation and buffing capabilities.

A-Tier
A-Tier Agents are strong within specific team compositions but may not consistently outperform S-Tier options.
- Nicole: Nicole's Ether Support abilities, including enemy pulling and Ether damage/DEF shredding, are highly beneficial for AoE units like Nekomata, though her effectiveness is limited to Ether DPS units.

- Seth: A solid Shielder and Support, Seth's niche application to Anomaly DPS units doesn't match the broader utility of top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar.

- Lucy: Lucy provides off-field damage and an ATK% buff, with her DPS potential enhanced through synergy with other characters.

- Piper: While primarily reliant on her EX Special Attack, Piper's powerful Assault Anomaly generation is valuable in Anomaly-focused teams.

- Grace: Grace's ability to quickly apply Shock and build Anomalies remains relevant, but the influx of new Anomaly Agents has lowered her overall ranking.

- Koleda: A reliable Fire/Stun unit, Koleda's Daze buildup is valuable in teams with other Fire characters, particularly Ben, with whom she gains enhanced movesets.

- Anby: Anby's reliable Stun capabilities are hampered by her susceptibility to interruption compared to other Stun Agents.

- Soldier 11: Soldier 11's straightforward high-damage output is effective but lacks the strategic depth of other top-tier units.

B-Tier
B-Tier Agents possess some utility but are generally outperformed by higher-tier options.
- Ben: Ben's defensive capabilities, including parrying and punishing, are overshadowed by his low damage and limited team benefits.

- Nekomata: Nekomata's AoE damage potential is hampered by a lack of supportive teammates in the current meta, though future updates may improve her viability.

C-Tier
C-Tier Agents currently offer limited value compared to other available options.
- Corin: Corin's Physical damage output is outclassed by other Physical Attack units like Nekomata and Piper.

- Billy: Billy's damage output is insufficient to justify his inclusion in most team compositions.

- Anton: Anton's Shock damage potential is limited by his low overall DPS and single-target focus.
