Crytek Announces Restructuring, Layoffs, and Crysis Game Delay
Crytek has confirmed a significant restructuring, resulting in the layoff of approximately 60 employees—around 15% of its 400-person workforce. This follows reported financial difficulties.
Simultaneously, the company announced a temporary halt to the development of the next Crysis game, a decision made in Q3 2024. Crytek is now focusing all its resources on Hunt: Showdown 1896.
The studio explored reassigning staff to other projects, but this proved unfeasible despite cost-cutting measures. Affected employees will receive severance packages and career support.

Future plans center on expanding Hunt: Showdown 1896 content, while the new Crysis title is indefinitely delayed. Crytek remains positive about its long-term prospects, emphasizing continued development of Hunt: Showdown 1896 and its CRYENGINE technology.
