Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: No Harm to Our Canine Companions
MachineGames, the developers behind the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, have confirmed a heartwarming detail: players won't be able to harm dogs in the game. This decision marks a significant departure from the studio's previous work, known for its often intense and violent scenarios.

"Indiana Jones is a dog person," stated MachineGames Creative Director Jens Andersson in a recent interview with IGN. While the game will feature Indy's signature brawling and combat against human adversaries, any canine encounters will be non-lethal. This compassionate approach contrasts sharply with titles like Wolfenstein, where animal combat was a staple.

Andersson further explained the reasoning: "It’s a family-friendly IP in many ways. How do we do that well? Well, these are the kind of things that we do. We have dogs as enemies, but you don’t really hurt the dogs. You scare them away."

Set in 1937, between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle follows Indy's pursuit of stolen artifacts. His adventure spans diverse locations, from the Vatican to Egyptian pyramids and the underwater ruins of Sukhothai. Players will utilize Indy's iconic whip for traversal and combat, but rest assured, no furry friends will fall victim to its power.
The game launches December 9th on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a PS5 release tentatively scheduled for Spring 2025. For a deeper dive into the gameplay, be sure to check out our related article!
