Defeat Balbala in Act 2's Traitor's Passage. She's a formidable opponent early on, but her defeat grants Balbala's Barya, the key to unlocking the Trial.

Traitor's Passage in Act 2

After obtaining Balbala's Barya, travel to the Trial's location (via Ardura's travel map or Waypoint). Balbala, now an advisor, awaits. Place the Barya on the Relic Altar to begin.

Note: Balbala's Barya is consumed upon first completion. Subsequent attempts require finding randomly dropped Djinn Baryas.

How to Complete the Trial of the Sekhemas

Prioritize movement speed for faster completion.

Strategic Tips:

  • Ignore enemies in Gauntlet sections (traps and levers).
  • Kite enemies during Hourglass (survival) encounters.
  • Choose room modifiers wisely.
  • Use town portals to exit if needed.
  • Collect Sacred Water dropped by enemies.
  • Utilize mobility skills and Dodge Roll frequently.

Honour System:

A white bar (Honour) acts as a secondary health bar. Losing all Honour or Life results in failure. Honour is lost upon taking damage, and replenished only at rare Honour fountains (often requiring Sacred Water). Avoid damage at all costs!

Rewards:

Keys of varying rarities are obtainable throughout the trial, unlocking chests in the final reward room. This room also contains a statue granting your first Ascendancy points (only on the first completion). Subsequent runs offer valuable loot but no additional Ascendancy points. The difficulty and rewards increase significantly in the endgame.
