Remedy Aims to Be Europe

Remedy Entertainment's ambition: To be Europe's Naughty Dog. Inspired by Naughty Dog's cinematic successes, particularly the Uncharted series, Remedy Entertainment, led by Alan Wake 2 director Kyle Rowley, aims to establish itself as a leading European studio in the same vein. Rowley, in a Behind The Voice podcast interview, highlighted this aspiration, stating their goal is to become "the European version of Naughty Dog."

This influence is clearly visible in Alan Wake 2's cinematic presentation, lauded for its stunning visuals and compelling narrative. The game's success has significantly bolstered Remedy's reputation within the European gaming landscape.

Remedy's aspirations extend beyond the horror genre. Naughty Dog's mastery of single-player cinematic experiences, exemplified by the Uncharted and The Last of Us franchises (the latter being one of the most decorated in gaming history), serves as a clear benchmark.

Alan Wake 2, even over a year post-launch, continues to receive updates. Recent improvements include enhanced gameplay across all platforms, most notably the addition of a "Balanced" graphics option for the PS5 Pro. This new option cleverly combines elements of the PS5 Pro Performance and Quality modes.

These updates also subtly refine the game's graphical settings, resulting in a smoother framerate and reduced visual noise. In addition to these PS5 Pro enhancements, several minor gameplay bugs, particularly within the Lake House expansion, have been addressed.
