Stellar Blade Dev Shift Up Posts Record Year, Sales of PC Version Still Expected to Outsell PS5

By GraceMar 16,2025

Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, has announced a record-breaking year, with the game generating $43 million in royalties. The company's 2024 financial report shows a total revenue of $151.4 million, a 30.4% year-on-year increase. This success is largely attributed to Stellar Blade's strong performance, and the company anticipates even greater success with the upcoming PC release, projecting sales to surpass those of the PlayStation 5 version, particularly within the Asian market.

While Stellar Blade garnered positive reception, selling over a million copies and receiving a 7/10 rating from IGN ("Stellar Blade excels in core action game elements, yet suffers from underdeveloped characters, a weak narrative, and frustrating RPG mechanics preventing it from reaching the genre's pinnacle."), Shift Up's focus currently lies on Project Witches, a new game slated for a reveal in the first half of 2025. Although Project Witches was unveiled in 2024, before significant demand for a Stellar Blade sequel built, Shift Up has confirmed that they are exploring the possibility of developing another installment in the franchise. Stellar Blade casts players as Eve, fighting unknown invaders to reclaim Earth in fast-paced action RPG combat.
