CoD: Black Ops 6 Updates Revise Controversial Change

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverses Controversial Zombies Change

Treyarch has addressed player concerns regarding recent changes to Black Ops 6's Zombies mode. A January 9th update reverses a controversial alteration to Directed Mode on the Citadelle des Morts map, restoring the zombie spawn delay to its previous state. The developer acknowledged that the extended delay between rounds and zombie spawns after five looped rounds was negatively impacting gameplay and hindering kill farming and camo challenge completion.

This update also includes several bug fixes for Citadelle des Morts, addressing issues with quest progression, visual effects, and crashes related to the Void Sheath Augment. Significantly, the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod received substantial buffs, increasing activation rates for normal, special, and elite enemies, and reducing its cooldown timer by 25%.

Key Changes in the January 9th Update:

  • Zombies Directed Mode: Reverted the extended time between rounds and zombie spawn delay.
  • Citadelle des Morts: Numerous bug fixes addressing visual effects, crashes, and quest progression issues.
  • Shadow Rift Ammo Mod: Significant buffs to activation rates and cooldown.

Further Updates Planned:

The patch notes also preview additional bug fixes and changes slated for the Black Ops 6 Season 2 update on January 28th. This includes resolving remaining issues such as the Vermin double-attack bug.

Other Notable Changes:

The January 9th update also incorporated several global fixes, including addressing visual issues in the Events tab and audio problems with in-game milestone banners. Multiplayer received stability improvements and increased XP rewards for the Red Light, Green Light mode. The Dead Light, Green Light LTM now includes Liberty Falls and a higher round cap of 20.

Global Updates:

  • Characters: Resolved a visibility issue with Maya’s “Joyride” Operator Skin.
  • UI: Addressed visual issues with the Events tab.
  • Audio: Fixed an audio issue with Event milestone banners.

Multiplayer Updates:

  • Modes (Red Light, Green Light): Increased XP awarded from match bonuses.
  • Stability: Various stability fixes implemented.

Zombies Updates:

  • Maps (Citadelle des Morts): Addressed multiple issues including crashes related to the Void Sheath Augment and missing visual effects. Corrected guidance issues in Directed Mode related to player disconnections and stamp spawning. Fixed a problem preventing quest progression after picking up Solais.
  • Modes (Directed Mode): Reverted the changes to round timing and zombie spawn delay.
  • Ammo Mods (Shadow Rift): Increased activation rates and decreased cooldown timer. These changes aim to rebalance the Ammo Mod after previous adjustments.
  • LTM (Dead Light, Green Light): Added Liberty Falls map and increased the round cap to 20.

The update demonstrates Treyarch's responsiveness to player feedback and commitment to improving the overall Black Ops 6 experience.
