Before diving into our detailed Superliminal walkthrough, let's cover the fundamentals. Firstly, you cannot die in this game—even if you drop a massive block on your head, it'll simply bounce off, reminding you that you're navigating through a dream world.

Secondly, familiarize yourself with the mechanics using the practice room. Experiment with objects; if you release an object near the floor or wall, it'll become smaller. Conversely, if you release it when looking further away, it'll enlarge. You can repeat this process to manipulate object size significantly. For instance, pick up a pawn from the desk, cross the room, and hold it over the desk; when it looks as big as the lamp, release it to make it that size. As the note in the practice room explains, perception is key. You can even make objects appear by aligning them in your view.

Once you get the hang of these mechanics, navigating Superliminal will become second nature. Here's our comprehensive walkthrough covering all nine levels.

Level 1 – Induction

Superliminal - several huge chess pieces and blocks in a room.This level introduces you to the core techniques you'll need throughout Superliminal.

Puzzle 1

Start by signing the contract if you wish, then proceed down the corridor into the next room.

Puzzle 2

Use the pawns and other items on the table to practice resizing. Once done, move through the door to find a giant chess piece blocking your path. Pick it up, look down at the floor, and drop it to shrink it. Jump over the smaller box to advance.

Puzzle 3

Locate the exit door in the far right-hand corner, hidden behind two stacked blocks. Shrink the top block by releasing it near the floor, then use the fallen chess piece as a step to reach the top of the block and exit through the door.

You'll encounter your first object-blocking door, which you can pass through only if you're not carrying anything.

Puzzle 4

To keep the door open, you need to place an object on the button, similar to the mechanics in Portal. Position yourself to the right of the button to see through the door when it opens. Place any size cube on the button and walk through the door.

Puzzle 5

From the previous room, pick up the cube and look at the ceiling in the current room. Drop and pick up the cube multiple times to enlarge it until it's large enough to serve as a step to the door in the corner. Jump onto it and proceed to the next room.

Look through the left window to pick up a pawn chess piece. Then, look through the right window and place the pawn on the button, using its shadow to align it. Exit through the door.

Puzzle 7

This puzzle introduces object rotation, limited to one plane. Pick up the cheese and use the look-up-and-drop technique to enlarge it enough to form a ramp to the doorway.

Puzzle 8

Grab the massive block and hold it against a wall, then release it to shrink it. Repeat this process and place the now smaller block on the button to the right of the door to open it.

Puzzle 9

Take the large block from the left and drop it near the bottom of the wall to shrink it. Look through the broken window and place the tiny block on the button visible beyond. Alternatively, you can drop it on the slope to get it through the window.

Puzzle 10

The goal here is to get the block over the wall into the next room. Some rooms have walls that don't extend to the ceiling, so be observant. Pick up the block, stand in the back left corner, and raise it above the wall. Release it to let it fall into the other room, then place it on the button and exit.

Pick up the exit sign and repeatedly drop it from the ceiling to enlarge it. Once it's large enough, rotate it to touch both buttons simultaneously, then release it and exit.

Puzzle 12

Ignore the button behind the door and look through the crack in the left wall panel to find a cheese wedge. Enlarge it and rotate it so the point pushes against the inward-leaning wall panel. Release it to knock down several panels, then climb over and proceed to complete the level.

Level 2 – Optical

Assuming you're now comfortable with resizing objects, here's how to navigate this level.

Puzzle 1

Progress through the hotel until you reach the fire exit door. Set it aside and continue until you see a nighttime painting on your left. Walk towards it to ascend the stairs. In the large room, remove an exit sign from the wall, enlarge it to climb over the far wall, and proceed through the door.

Puzzle 2

Enter the room to your right and stand near the fold-out tables and projector. Align the cube-painted items to form a perfect cube, which will materialize. Enlarge the chequered cube to use as a step to reach the corridor exit.

Create another cube by standing behind the table marked with an 'X' and aligning the flowers. Move to the opposite side and align the flowers on the new table with the flower hole in the chequered cube to obtain it. Rotate the cube to reveal stairs, then enlarge it to reach the high door in the corridor.

Puzzle 4

Bring the cube stairs with you and use them to reach the ledge on the left side of the big room. Align the missing part of the fire exit door on one of the pillars to materialize it. 'Open' the door by clicking on it without moving, then exit through this new doorway.

Puzzle 5

Ascend the stairs and enter the room with spilled paint. Align the cube on the ceiling, then enlarge it to reach the upper level and the yellow gantry. On the gantry, align the green pipe with the stain to create a chess piece. Pick it up and exit through the hole it creates.

Back in the hotel, look through the far skylight to pick up the Moon. Enlarge and rotate it until the tiny door on it is large enough to walk through. Enter the elevator to complete the level.

Level 3 – Cubism

Prepare to manipulate dice as you explore a mental museum/art gallery.

Upon reaching the gallery, enter the Curator's Room to your right and grab a dice. Enlarge it to reach the ledge, then take it to the next room.

Puzzle 2

Enlarge the dice to reach the exit, then take the smaller dice from the alcove and use it as a step onto the larger dice. Proceed through the high door.

Puzzle 3

Simply pick up the new dice on the floor, jump down the hole it leaves, grab the air vent beneath the floor, and continue.

Puzzle 4

Use the dice as steps to progress further.

Upon entering, you'll see three dice attached to the floor. Slide the middle dice into the floor, then pull the left-hand dice to the right. Jump onto it to reach the ledge.

Puzzle 6

After the dice collapse, pick up any side and use it to create a ramp to the ledge. Exit through the door.

Puzzle 7

Position the dice near the ledge. If it explodes, pick up any piece and enlarge it to form steps to ascend to the ledge.

Puzzle 8

Pick up the dice face opposite the stairs, move it aside, and enter the cube. Head to the elevator to complete the level.

Level 4 – Blackout

Several tanks and bottles in Superliminal.While there's no real danger, you might experience a few scary moments. Walk a bit before encountering the first puzzle.

Puzzle 1

The door ahead leads to a dead end, so walk to the right-hand side of the room through the darkness to find an exit at the back.

Puzzle 2

Further on, you'll encounter a red pit. Look at the ground to see a small platform on the left. Follow it across the pit to the next area.

Puzzle 3

After the door slams shut, walk backwards into the darkness to see an arrow pointing to silhouetted stairs. Ascend them.

Puzzle 4

In the red room, look through the planks to take the exit sign. Enlarge it a few times, then return through the door with plastic strips. Use the sign to light your way past the boxes and drop it before going through the door.

In the storeroom, enlarge the red exit sign to illuminate it through the glass window. Enter the room, climb the boxes, and exit through the high door.

Finally, reach the IDEA generator, turn it on, and proceed straight to the elevator to complete this level.

Level 5 – Clone

This level is named for its cloning mechanic. You'll encounter a green fire door you can pick up and discard before tackling the first puzzle.

Puzzle 1

You'll find a green button but nothing to pick up in the room. Return for the door you removed and place it on the button.

In the Y-shaped corridor with fire doors at each end, clicking them spawns smaller doors. Click the right door repeatedly to create a staircase of doors, then climb over the wall behind it.

Puzzle 3

Each click on the clock spawns another. Enlarge some duplicates to create a staircase of clocks.

Puzzle 4

An apple on the button keeps the door locked. Stand close to it, clone it, look at the ceiling, and release it to drop a massive apple that knocks the smaller one off. If you miss, retry.

Puzzle 5

Your goal is to place an apple on the green button. Climb the stairs, stand behind the button, and look down at the apple so its bottom half is hidden. Click to clone an apple onto the button.

Puzzle 6

Stand at the entrance and keep cloning the SomnaSculpt sign until you have enough to climb and jump up. Reach the top level, jump down the hole beneath the door, and proceed to the elevator to end the level.

Level 6 – Dollhouse

Instead of the usual route, enter the Relaxation Room. Head through the movie theater and turn right at the Suite G door. Navigate the office area and drop down through the object-blocking door.

Puzzle 1

Pick up the dollhouse, look up to the ceiling, and drop/enlarge it until it's large enough to walk into and the window is above your head. Enter, go through the door ahead, and jump onto the suitcases and table to reach the other door.

Puzzle 2

In the room with a door atop Jenga-like blocks, pick up the small fan, enlarge it, and place it to blow the blocks down, freeing the door. Proceed through it.

Puzzle 3

Click on the second window from the left, enlarge it, and walk through.

Puzzle 4

Enlarge the inflatable castle until you can walk through its door. Go through the door and then the vent fan.

Puzzle 5

You'll face two doors leading to each other and a high-up door on the wall. Position the larger door near the upper door/keyhole, facing it and covering its bottom quarter. Squeeze through the gap to enter the door. Resize and position the smaller door on top of the first to reach the keyhole.

Puzzle 6

Instead of returning to normal size, grab the cardboard dollhouse off the chair, resize it on the ledge, and enter it. Proceed to the elevator to complete the level.

Level 7 – Labyrinth

You'll start in a bedroom and quickly find yourself in the backrooms. Keep walking as the voice discusses emergency protocols, then return to the bedroom.

Puzzle 1

Deal with the alarm clock loop by walking until it beeps, returning you to the bedroom several times. Continue until the screen goes black and gravity shifts. Drop through the doorway into the catering area, then click the alarm to return to the bedroom. Take the blue sky painting to the end of the blank hallway, place it where a door would be, and walk into the painting. Sidestep left and continue until you're pinned against the wall in a red hall.

Puzzle 2

Click the grey door to the right to reveal the exit and make it drop. Lift the door to find a hole beneath it, jump down, and proceed to the orange hall.

Puzzle 3

In the orange hall, align the painted block on the right wall. Back up to fall down the crack by the wall to the next area. Alternatively, run up to the wall and drop down.

Puzzle 4

Grab the spiral staircase, look up, and drop it to enlarge it and break through the floor. Climb down to the bottom, move the junk near the elevator, and enter it. Turn around and exit through the door behind you. Follow the exit signs in the repeating hallway to the next area.

Puzzle 5

Place the dice on the left ledge, shrinking it to climb onto the next level of the swimming pool. Turn around to see it on the top level, then use it to reach the door.

Placing the chess piece on the button turns it 2D. Instead, stand on the button and look through the door. Use the knight to hold down the button.

Puzzle 7

Pick up the dice to change the room. Use it to climb to the bed level, pick up the cube, and drop it to be transported to a dark corridor. Walk to the end wall, drop down, click the alarm clock, and appear among elevators. Follow the arrows through doors until you reach a darkened hallway. Click the alarm clock and enter the elevator.

Puzzle 8

You'll appear outside, but the lampposts turn 2D when you approach. Walk to each of the four 'walls' to make a bedroom appear in the center. Enter and click the alarm clock to complete the level.

Level 8 – Whitespace

You're nearing the end, but first, you need to escape the room you wake up in.

Puzzle 1

With no obvious exits, click on the building model's chunk to the left of "Jungles" and enlarge it to enter the door. Position it to obscure the far door, making it large enough to enter. After passing through, the bricked-up doorway opens. Shrink the model, walk through the door, and keep walking as the room dissolves into white. Pick up the black block, go through the doorway behind it, and walk through the filing cabinet shadow.

Puzzle 2

In the long hallway with open walls and white pillars, walk through the white window in the black area. Use the inverted window as a cube to climb through the far door. In the next room, walk behind the wall with the window towards the containers and chimney, then flick the switch.

Puzzle 3

Walk towards the stairs but through the white stair shape. Follow the black path until you fall and keep walking.

Puzzle 4

In the looping hallway with colored pillars, walk through the white walls to find another door behind the red and blue end. Keep going until you reach the chessboard.

Puzzle 5

Avoid falling through the chessboard squares. Use the chess pieces from the table to cross: place the white piece on a white square, cross to it, then pick up the black piece and place it on a black square. Repeat until you're across.

Puzzle 6

You can't go through the white door initially. Turn the 2D door into a room by dropping the cube behind the white space. Grab the cheese wedge, bring it to the high door, and enlarge it to climb up and reach it.

Keep falling through the chequered holes and corridors. After passing through a door into whitespace, turn around, click the black box to reveal an exit sign and red pit. Jump into the pit to complete the level.

Level 9 – Retrospect

A room filled with lockers in Superliminal.Activate the alarm clock to open the door. You'll receive an inspirational talk from Dr. Glenn Pierce and revisit sections of previous levels and new areas. You can move around, but the game will transport you to the next area.
