Marvel Rivals Tackles Bug Impeding Gameplay Smoothness

Marvel Rivals Addresses Low FPS Damage Issue

Several Marvel Rivals heroes, including Dr. Strange and Wolverine, are experiencing reduced damage output at lower FPS settings. This 30 FPS bug impacts damage calculations, affecting gameplay for players on less powerful devices. The developers are actively working on a fix.

The highly anticipated Season 1 launch, scheduled for January 11th, is expected to include a solution or significant improvement to this problem. The game, released in early December 2025, boasts an impressive 80% player approval rating on Steam (over 132,000 reviews), despite initial hero balance concerns.

Recent player reports highlighted the 30 FPS damage glitch affecting heroes like Dr. Strange, Magik, Star-Lord, Venom, and Wolverine. Damage reduction varies across abilities and heroes. A community manager on the official Discord server confirmed the issue, noting movement problems at lower frame rates also impacting damage output. While a complete fix might take time, Season 1 should offer a substantial improvement.

Marvel Rivals' 30 FPS Bug: A Deeper Dive

The root cause appears to be linked to the game's client-side prediction mechanism, a common technique to minimize perceived lag. This mechanism, however, seems to be interacting poorly with lower frame rates, resulting in the damage discrepancy.

While the official acknowledgment didn't list every affected hero or ability, Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw were specifically mentioned. The effects are more pronounced against stationary targets than in live matches. If Season 1 doesn't completely resolve the issue, further updates are planned to address any remaining problems.
